A creative photographer from West Yorkshire who loves to empower women in front of the lens!
Bollywood enthusiast. Loves art, travel and hot chocolate.
I began my photography career in 2012 working for P&O Cruises where I trained as a wedding and travel photographer. Since then I’ve been lucky enough to produce promotional work for numerous artists and
organisations. It’s been an amazing few years! However, during this time I’ve realised just how
uncomfortable women can be in front of the lens – including myself! The way I’ve seen us criticise our own image, sometimes even fear having our pictures taken, encouraged me to embark on a career change and focus on what I call Healing Photography;
offering a safe space in front of the lens for women to express themselves fully, embrace their
bodies, and change the relationship they have with the camera.
I made this decision at the end of 2017 and started my travels around New Zealand. Since then I’ve met some INCREDIBLE women who’ve opened up to me and expressed their truth in front of my camera. I even did my first naked photo shoot with a women who’d just had severe surgery on her body in Auckland. It was the most precious shoot I’ve ever done!
Being WOMAN has many forms. Angry, sexy, playful, ugly, strong, tired, loving, creative, ready-to-totally-loose-it are just a few that come to mind. Being allowed to express and accept ourselves fully is vital for our health and well being. Expressing YOU whilst being seen in a safe space is phenomenally healing and this is what I want to offer.
After years of struggling with my own body image issues now is the time for change. If you want to come on this journey with me, or find out more, please get in touch!
